probably not a popular opinion on here....and haven't been actively attending meetings since 1988....(i know i know a submarine attender) however thoroughly enjoyed attending this evening...was good to see lots of people i remember whilst growing up in this faith, they were genuine and the whole atmosphere was one of love.

In the 80's a witness couple had a little girl. They gave the baby the course of shots and shortly afterwards she showed signs of brain damage and severe retardation. (I don't know the PC word for that, sorry). They swore it was the vaccination for whooping cough and pertussis that caused the damage, even threatening a lawsuit. It took a year or two but the baby was diagnosed with microcephaly. The family broke up and the 8 year old girl died in foster care. Tragic. It was not the vaccination. Protect the public, force either vaccinations or isolate those not vaccinated from public schools.

i really want friends and a boyfriend but i can’t have that because my parents are jw and i’m also homeschooled.
they are those jw parents that refuse to let me go to public school because of bad influences.
Take a deep breath and count the good things provided for you at this point. They house you, they feed you and believe it or not they love you and in their warped way have your interests in mind. SO, think how close to 18 you are. I assume that you do not have means to house & feed yourself. In that short time till you are 18 you can prepare for departure. Start saving money however little it may be, something is better than nothing. Trust me it will go faster than you think, then get to school and meet people to become friends and perhaps housemates. Cozy up to other "weak" kids in their late teens looking to escape as well. All the best.
